España: Summary

So last August, I went to Spain to participate in the World Youth Day! Well, some of you may ask, "What the heck is the World Youth Day?" World Youth Day (or WYD) is an event celebrated by the Christian youth. Pope John Paul II thought of this event in 1985. Now, it is held every 2 or 3 years. As I said, I went to the WYD held in August 2011 in Spain, and I have to tell you that it was one of the best things that ever happened in my life. Anyway, below is the logo of the last held WYD (that's when I participated).

I didn't go there alone, by the way. 49 of my batch mates and 5 teachers went with me. So why did we think of going to the WYD? Actually, us students were chosen by our teachers to go there. In short, we went there to represent our school.

Moving on, we didn't actually just go to Madrid for 4/5 days, then leave after! We went to other places as well! Yup, the school had it all thought out. Anyway, since we were collaborating with the Christian group, Verbum Dei, we first went to their retreat house to experience a Pre-World Youth Day Encounter in Valencia, then after the WYD, we went to other places in Spain as part of our pilgrimage. Well, for now, that's it! I will go into detail about the things that happened in the next post. Well, bye! :)
